Sonic Futures Writing Room is a three-day songwriting camp bringing together some of the Tees Valley’s most exciting artists and songwriters for collaboration, experimentation and creative development.
Developed in collaboration with Amelia Coburn, Jodie Nicholson, Joe Ramsey and Chad Rodgers, the programme will explore different approaches to songwriting and creative collaboration, including writing for other artists, responding to visual storytelling and developing your own ideas into fully realised songs.
Across the three days, you’ll have the opportunity to write, collaborate and experiment with other songwriters in a supportive and creatively ambitious environment. The camp is designed to give you space to explore new approaches, develop your ideas and build confidence in your own creative practice.
What to expect
Throughout Sonic Futures Writing Room, you’ll explore a range of songwriting approaches and creative briefs, working both collaboratively and independently.
You might find yourself writing specifically with another artist in mind, responding to a film or visual concept, or developing an idea of your own. The programme will give you the space to experiment with different ways of working while receiving support, guidance and feedback from other professional songwriters.
You’ll be encouraged to bring your own ideas and creative perspective into the room, while also being open to collaboration and new approaches to songwriting.
